Meet Susan Storey Rubio
Susan Storey Rubio is a Texas rancher who embodies seven generations of Texas grit, fearlessness, and fierce love for community. A woman of faith and a bold conservative advocate, Susan is a natural leader and exactly what Congressional District 23 deserves.
Susan’s life has been one of outspoken advocacy and relentless hard work. Born in San Antonio, raised in the communities of Cotulla and Crystal City and having graduated high school in Carrizo Springs, Susan knows this community and will fight for it every day.
Susan was raised with the tireless work ethic that characterizes the people of this district who work endlessly to provide for their families, run small businesses, and carry on their family legacies. To avoid saddling her future family with debt, Susan left Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University, and University of Incarnate Word to enter the workforce before completing her degree. Through hard work and dedication, she became a business owner and has been a job creator for over 30 years.
While running a business, Susan started her family, raising her children in San Antonio with strong conservative values. As a proud mother, stepmother, and grandmother, Susan is committed to building a thriving state and nation to leave to future generations. Today, she and her husband, DJ, pour their time into their ranch, family, and worthy causes.
"I’m not a politician — I’m a fighter. I’ve built a business, raised a family, and worked this land with my own hands. Now, I’m stepping up to fight for our families, our freedoms, and the future we owe the next generation.”
